| Q. What types of training
do you offer for kids during summer?
During summers, NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC) offers computer camps for kids between the ages of 10 and 18. The goal of our summer camp is to help students learn programming while having fun. NRCLC is Microsoft Learning Partner and CompTIA Authorized Training Center. The students learn to create games, websites and software while developing logic, math and science skills. We have partnered with the City of Orange, Irvine Valley College, Microsoft, CompTIA and CIW to share the knowledge and experience with students in the areas of 2D Animation, Website Design and Java Programming. By attending the program, students will learn to design and develop games, website and applications. These programs are also beneficial for students who are planning to enroll in AP Computer Science, preparing for Adobe Certified Associate Exam or planning to build a career in web design, graphic design, game programming or computer science. Q. Where will the training take place? The training is being offered NR Computer Learning Center(NRCLC) in Orange.

NRCLC is located in City of Orange (California) at the cross section of 5 and 57 freeways, close to the Angels Stadium and few miles from Disneyland & Convention Center in Anaheim. The address is 2100 W. Orangewood, Suite 110, Orange, CA 92868. Q. When does the computer camp start? A. The summer camps starts on June 20th. Q. How long are these Camps? Each camp varies from few days to a week. Q. What is class size for your training program? A. NRCLC can accommodate up to 12 students. One student is assigned per station. NRCLC reserves
the rights to cancel a camp if there are less than 5
students registered for the program. Q. Do each student have their own computer during the class? A. Yes, each student gets a computer to work. Our classes are designed to be hands-on and very interactive. Students will leave our class comfortable using the skills taught. Q. Can you tell me more about the program? A. Our programs are designed for students who have little to no knowledge of game programming, software development or website development, especially the level I programs, such as Computer Basic and Java I. The course consists of hands-on labs where students can get an opportunity to apply what they have learnt. Each student get a computer to work on. At the end of the day, we hold a review session to enhance learning. On the last day of the course, we do a show-and-tell, where parents are invited to see the students displaying their projects. Once the presentation is over, we handout the Certificate of Completion to all the students who have attended the program. Our students have the option apply for courses related to Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe and Certiport Certificate program. Q. What types of students attend the program? We have a mix of students that range in the age of 10 to 18. The average age of a student is 13. There are students who are interested in Game programming and want to develop career as a graphic designer and/or prepare for the Adobe Certified Associate Exam for Flash, who would generally register for Flash I & II. Students who want to add animation, ideas or flash games on their website, or want to learn HTML, style sheet and Javascript to develop and manage their website or want to build a career as a graphic designer and/or want to prepare for Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) Exam for Dreamweaver, would generally register for the Website Design course. The students who want to develop programs, plan to take AP Computer Science, plan to become Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) or plan to build a career in technology/computer science will generally register for any of the following: Computer Basic, Building Your Computer, Microsoft Office, Website Design, Java I & II. Students
who are interested in build computer or apply for CompTIA certification
program, generally register for courses such as Computer Basic,
Building Your Computer, Strata. Q. Do you give a certificate when a student completes a course? A. At the end of the course, the student get a Certificate of Completion. To get a Certification from Microsoft, Adobe or CompTIA, the student must pass the exam by those vendors.
