*Students are required to bring their laptop to the class to practice hand-on exercises. Students will need Java and Eclipse installed on their laptop. Follow the steps given below:
1. To install Java, visit http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html and download “Java SE Development Kit 8u11″ software based on your operating system. Double click the downloaded Java software to install it on your computer.
2. To install Eclipse (as IDE for Java Development), visit https://eclipse.org/downloads/ and use download link on the right side of the “Eclipse IDE for Java Developers” on the page to download the software based on your operating system.
3. Unzip downloaded Eclipse file an extract the file to c:\ folder.

Instructor: Vazi Okhandiar, MCT, PMP, MBA, MSCS
Vazi Okhandiar has over 20 years of teaching experience in Computer Science courses and Microsoft Products. Vazi teaches both kids and adults. She has been helping students prepare for AP Computer Science exam and Microsoft Certification Exam. She is currently on the Advisory Board of the Irvine Valley College and a SCORE Counselor for small businesses. She has worked in the capacity of managing, architecture, designing and implementing information technology projects for large clients such as the World Bank, General Motors, HP/EDS, Toyota, CSC, Olympus and Mitsubishi, as well as numerous small and medium size enterprises. Vazi has an MBA from the University of California, Irvine, a Master’s in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Irvine. She is also Microsoft Certified Training providing Microsoft and software development training.
