3. What is the difference between MTA and MCSA Exam?

The Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification is the first level of certification that helps individuals validate and showcase their skills and knowledge in fundamentals of Microsoft technology. MTA and MCSA are the entry level certifications in the career pathway to becoming a specialist in Microsoft technology. As the individuals gain more experience in using Microsoft Technology, they have the option to take an advance exam to become Microsoft IT Professional, Professional Developer, Microsoft Certified Master and Microsoft Certified Architect.

5. What is the process for getting an MTA Certification?

NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC) is a Microsoft Partner and an Authorized Testing Center located in Orange County that provides on-site and online training, online practice test and access to the testing facility to anyone interested in Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Certification exam to certify their knowledge in technology to build a career in Microsoft Technology. Click here to download the study guide for the MTA Exams.

Following is the five-step process for getting an MTA certification:

  1. Select one or more MTA exam you wish to certify in
  2. Prepare for the exam. Following is a list of options available for preparing for the exam:
  3. Purchase a MTA Voucher: You will need a MTA vocher to take the exam. If you do not have a MTA voucher then you can purchase MTA voucher from our center by calling us at (714) 505-3475 or by Clicking here to purchase a voucher online from NR Computer Learning Center for the MTA exam. Note: Please allow 24 hours for processing the order. The voucher number will be to be transmitted to you via the “Contact Email” address you provided in the order process.
  4. Register for the exam:
    Once you have the voucher, you will need to register for the test. Use Certiport Locator to locate a Certiport Authorized Testing Center in your neighborhood. If you are located in Southern California, you can take the test at NR Computer Learning Center (NRCLC). If you plan to take the test at NRCLC, call the center at (714) 505-3475 or visit  http://www.nrclc.com/testing_center/microsoft-technology-associate/ to select a date and time to take the test. The NRCLC center is located at 1835 W Orange Ave, STE 200, Orange, CA 92868. The testing center is opennfrom Monday to Saturday 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
  5. Take the exam: If you are taking the exam at NRCLC, on the day of the exam, you will need to bring with you following 3 items:
    1. Drivers License or Student ID with photo (Unexpired)
    2. Proctoring Fee ($20)
    3. MTA Voucher number

The MTA exam is approximately one hour long. The score is based on the end result, not on the time taken to complete the test. The test results are displayed immediately and printed as soon as the test is completed.

An official Microsoft certificate with the Microsoft logo is mailed by Microsoft to candidates within four to six weeks after successfully passing the exam. Microsoft will also send an email with the instructions on registering for Microsoft ID. The Microsoft ID and logo can be added to your resume to showcase your knowledge of Microsoft Technology.
