The program introduces the students to the conceptual,
technical and visual design skills required to develop rich media
web sites, interactive applications and online games. Students will
also learn to use Photoshop for creating and editing images, Video
Editor Software to edit video clips, Sony’s Sound Forge to edit
sound and Macromedia’s Flash to create animation.
S410 – Adobe Photoshop ….. 16 hours
– The students will learn to use Adobe Photoshop, a professional
image-editing tool, to alter photographs and scanned artwork, retouch
images, apply special effects, swap details between photos, introduce
text and logos, adjust color balance, and even sharpen the focus
of a photograph. The students will learn to incorporate basic graphic
elements and text into presentations, brochures, business cards,
newsletters, reports, and multimedia productions. This course is
good for any photographer, a designer, an architect, an engineer
and a website designer.
Animation ….. Macromedia Flash and Shockwave are perfect for dynamic Web
sites. Using Macromedia Flash, the students will learn the basic
principles of animation including tips and techniques for tweening,
creating fades and motion effects, and designing animations for
creating a movie. Students will also learn to work with keyframes,
cycles, motion guides, and more to add animation and dynamic interaction
to the Web site.
Sound Editing ….. This course introduces students to Sony’s Sound Forge Audio
Studio Software, professional audio recording and editing software,
import, edit and export high quality audio MP3 format files; cut,
paste, mix, crossfade, delete and reverse audio files; edit and
apply effects; export songs to MP3 format; extract auto tracks from
CDs. The course is designed for new and novice users.
Video Editing …..This course introduces the students to learn VideoStudio, a video
editing software, to video creation process by learning to download
and edit video clip; add special effects, video frames and graphics
to create the perfect video; and export the video to DVD, CD, SVCD
or to the web. This class is perfect for video enthusiasts and beginners
looking for an introduction to the basics of digital video editing.
Sound Editing ….. This is an introductory course to the ActionScripting language
used to create interactive games quickly. The students will learn
to turn their ideas into a cool game by learning the techniques
and elements, such as mouse-over effect, random number generation.
The students will also learn the programming techniques using 2D
animations and game programming (ActionScript) as part of the project
assignments. The students will learn to design, develop and test
small 2D games to understand the principles of game designing, storytelling,
image manipulation and programming. This class is perfect for beginners
looking for an introduction to the Action Scripting for games or
multimedia website.
