Pre-Algebra
- The
Pre-Algebra course is an introduction to basic algebra concepts
and a review of arithmetic algorithms. The course is designed to
help students overcome weakness in mathematics, emphasizing the
concepts necessary to be successful in Algebra I and II. The course
begins with a brief review of the number system and operations with
whole numbers, fractions, decimal, positive and negative numbers.
The course then covers the rational and linear exponents, ratios,
proportions and percentage; solving simple and complex equations
with one variable.
Algebra I -
The course is an introduction to algebra concepts
and a review of arithmetic algorithms. The course is designed to
help students overcome weakness in preparation in mathematics, emphasizing
the concepts necessary to be successful in Algebra I & II.
The course will cover Number Line, Variable and Terms, Property,
Open Sentences and Solution Set, Solve First-Degree Equations, Equations
with Fractions and Decimals, Inequalities, Absolute Value, Polynomials,
Exponents, Factoring, Rational Expression, Quadratic Equations,
Complex Numbers, Ratio & Proportion and Literal Equations.
Algebra II - This course is an introduction to Pre-algebra Algebra
I concepts and a review of Algebra II. The course is designed to
help students overcome weakness in preparation in mathematics, emphasizing
the concepts necessary to be successful in Algebra II. The course
will cover exponents, quadratic equations, polynomials, rates, linear
equations and scientific notations.
