Q1: Where is the Summer Computer Camp being held?

Q2: What courses are taught during the summer camp?

A2: Students who attend the NRCLC summer camp can learn about a diverse array of computer science topics, such as game programming, website design, video editing, AP(R) Computer Science Exam, Microsoft Technology Associate Certification Exam and C++ Certification Exam. For information on IVC and NRCLC program, click on  IVC and NRCLC location call (714) 505-3475 and for UCI program, click on University of California, Irvine or call (800) 920-6720.

Q3: How many students per classroom?

A3: At the Orange facility, the maximum classroom size is 12 students. The Irvine Valley College and UCI courses are capped at 30 students per class with 1 staff per 10 students.

Q4: Can my student obtain college credit during the summer program?

A4: NR Computer Learning Center offer courses that will prepare students to take classes for college credit. For example, NRCLC offers AP Computer Science prep course during summer to give students a head start for their High School Advance Placement Computer Science class. Our AP Computer Science test prep courses are not a replacement for AP Computer Science Class in High School.  We also help students prepare for Microsoft Technology Associate Certification Exam. Most of the colleges do accept these course for college credit, however, you must consult the college and university regarding their policies. Microsoft Technology Associate Certificate is excellent way to validate your technical skill, and show your job ready skills for summer.

Q5: Are there computers available during the camp or does my child bring in their own laptop?

A5: The NRCLC Summer Camps in Orange, and Irvine are properly equipped with high-end desktop computers. For the camp at UCI, student may bring in their own laptops if they choose to do so.

Q6: How much does a class cost, and are there any fees?

Q7: What are the class times, when does the summer camp begin?

A7: Class time starts at 9:00am or 12:00pm and depending the course, the classes end either at 12:00pm or 4:00pm. Few specialized classes may end at 5:00 PM. For information on IVC and NRCLC program, click on  IVC and NRCLC location call (714) 505-3475 and for UCI program, click on University of California, Irvine or call (800) 920-6720.

Q8: Is there a lunch break and is there food available for the students?

A8: Beaks are provided in every coarse.  The IVC and UCI campus have food kiosk available to students.  However, for the students taking the class at the NRCLC location are advise to bring in their own snacks and lunch.
